The first of a pair of photo sets from a conference visit (Materials Research Society) to Boston in early December. The common theme is “outside” – no prizes for guessing the following theme!

This second batch is loosely “practicalities” – accommodation, transport etc. (OK a submarine and a conference banquet aren’t natural partners, but this was the best theme I could come up with).
A set of photos from a brief stop in the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed on the way up to visits friends in Edinburgh for the weekend. As well as being fascinating in its own right, Berwick would make an ideal base for exploring the wonderful Northumberland coast.
