href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hexham_Abbey\">Hexham Abbey<\/a>, which would have been used by the monks of the Augustinian priory to access the church from the dormitory.<\/p>\n<p><a nave was only rebuilt in the 19th C. \u00a0The original Saxon crypt survives.\u00a0<a title=\"Wikipedia on Cuthbert\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cuthbert_of_Lindisfarne\">Cuthbert<\/a> was briefly bishop in 875 before moving to Lindisfarne.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2011\/04\/hexham-finchale\/hexhamcathedralaltar\/\"><img Horseless Carriages to be a TVR and Lotus dealership!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2011\/04\/hexham-finchale\/hexhamdusk\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/HexhamDusk-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"HexhamDusk\" title=\"HexhamDusk\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-5642\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Path from Hexham town centre to the meeting of the North (background) and South Tyne (fine for a stroll, but not worth much of a detour).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2011\/04\/hexham-finchale\/hexhamrivers\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Finchale_Priory\">Finchale Priory<\/a>, just outside Durham.
