The track along the top is superb walk, while the rock face below is hugely popular with rock climbers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2006\/09\/sheffield-ii\/stanage2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/Stanage2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Stanage2\" title=\"Stanage2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-4461\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nView of the Stanage escarpment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2006\/09\/sheffield-ii\/stanage1\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/Stanage1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Stanage1\" title=\"Stanage1\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-4460\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The gritstone is splendidly &#8220;grippy&#8221; and ideal for scrambling (or climbing of course).
