Unlike recent signage, only part of the text is given in Welsh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2011\/07\/studley-park-and-marsden\/bridge\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Bridge-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Bridge\" title=\"Bridge\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-4353\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A traditional &#8220;packhorse bridge&#8221; surviving in an isolated valley.  Impractical in an era of motorised transport, such bridges have largely disappeared.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2006\/07\/wales-i\/tumbledown-wall\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Tumbledown_wall-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Tumbledown wall\" title=\"Tumbledown wall\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-4472\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In common with much upland country in Britain, dry stone walls were widely used for demarcation.   They are generally very sturdy, but this example is remarkable for its poor quality; mile after mile of this wall had completely or partly failed (perhaps because the long slabs used could slip too easily).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/index.php\/2006\/07\/wales-i\/precipice-walk\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ph-images.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Precipice_Walk-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Precipice Walk\" title=\"Precipice Walk\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-4446\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>View of the somewhat extravagantly-named Precipice Walk around Foel Cynach near Dolgellau.  A good walk for a clear day (which sadly this wasn&#8217;t).  NB.
