Roundhay Park<\/a> in the\u00a0northern suburbs\u00a0of Leeds is apparently one of the largest city parks\u00a0in Europe. Waterloo Lake was landscaped from a former quarry by unemployed soldiers returning from the Napoleonic Wars.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Canal Gardens on the west side of Roundhay Park. The “canal” is purely artificial!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

(L) Zebra finches<\/a> and (R) meerkats<\/a> at Tropical World, which doesn’t look much from the outside but is\u00a0well worth a visit.<\/p>\n

Marsden<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Marsden rock<\/a> on the County Durham coast. To\u00a0the right is the lift shaft leading down to Marsden Grotto<\/a>, a pub \/ restaurant built into the side of the cliff. The top of the rock used to be accessible by ladder, but is now left to colonies of sea birds.<\/p>\n
