The Ure<\/a> at Hawes. Wensleydale is one of the few Yorkshire Dales not to be named after its principal river.<\/p>\n

The River Bain at Bainbridge, which at just 2.5 miles long is claimed to be the shortest river in England.\u00a0 Its source is Semerwater<\/a> – itself the largest (but still rather unimpressive!) natural lake in North Yorkshire.<\/p>\n
