Herrington Country Park \/ Penshaw Monument<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rather grandly titled Herrington Country Park is redeveloped land on the site of a former open cast coal mine. Sadly the cafe is lamentable – there’s a much better one across the road next to the Penshaw Monument.<\/p>\n
