Short set of pictures from a work trip to Limerick.
Quayside, Limerick.
(L) The “Living Bridge” over the River Shannon at the University of Limerick campus. (R) St. Mary’s Cathedral (Church of Ireland). The church is in the old “Englishtown” area of Limerick, as opposed to the “Irishtown” inhabited by the native Irish.Views (L) of and (R) from King John’s Castle. Having thought of John as a Bad King who lost the crown jewels and had to concede the Magna Carta to the barons, it was a surprise to see that he also had a more striking legacy.
