Pictures from a week in the small Cumbrian town of Sedbergh.

Walk from Sedbergh, first heading south to the River Rawthey and then heading north towards the River Lune. (Top left) The oddly named Lincoln’s Inn Bridge across the Lune. Thought to date from the 17th C, it is sufficiently robust to still handle a major road! (Top right) and (bottom left) heading north along the banks of the Line and (bottom right) heading under the Waterside viaduct. This carried a branch line of the Lancaster and Carlisle railway to Ingleton, which had a station just outside Sedbergh and just next to the holiday cottage.

Flower detail. Probably Lapsana Communis (common nipplewort).
