A little-appreciated feature of Castle (or University) College [54 46 33 N, 1 34 36 W] is that a couple of rooms are reserved per paying guests and not let out to students (for reasons that will be obvious!). Although the service and mod cons may not be quite to hotel standards, the two “state rooms” (the Chaplain’s suite and the Bishop’s suite) can’t be matched for “character”…
